Description
This LL8CN polishing lap is 8" dia.x 3/8" thick lap with 99.9% optical-grade proprietary Cerium on one
side, natural on the other. The Natural side can be used with any polishing medium including diamond
compounds. Then after cleaning the lap thoroughly, another polishing medium can be applied. The Cerium
side of this lap has a very durable coating designed to be used with water only! Very little pressure
is needed to produce a "tugging, or pulling action" from the stone on the coating surface. The Cerium
Coating is primarily used to polish the "Quartz Family" of gemstones, including quartz, glass, beryl,
scapolite, spodumene(kunzite), labradorite, othoclase, tansanite, topaz, Ethiopian & Mexican Opal,
Iolite, feldspar, bytownite, laser glass, leaded glass, and many others.
